Elisa Postinghel

Elisa Postinghel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Trento, Italy. She holds a position under the RTDb Geometry classification (since September 2020). Her career includes roles as a Lecturer at the University of Loughborough (2016–2020) and postdoctoral positions at institutions including KU Leuven, the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the University of Oslo.

Education: PhD in Mathematics from Roma Tre University (2010), Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics from the University of Trento (2006 and 2003).

Research focuses on Algebraic Geometry, with connections to Commutative Algebra and Combinatorics. Key areas include polynomial interpolation, Mori dream spaces, positivity of divisors, duality of cones, the minimal model program, secant varieties, tensor decomposition, and toric/tropical geometry.

Awards and grants include PRIN 2022 (Italy), EPSRC New Investigator Award (UK), and FWO Postdoctoral Fellowship (Belgium). She has supervised PhD students such as Luis José Santana Sánchez and Tim Grange, and mentored researchers like Liana Heuberger and Alex Casarotti.
