Alessandro Oneto is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Trento (Italy). He has held postdoctoral positions at Inria Sophia Antipolis (France), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), and OvGU Magdeburg (Germany) under the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship. His research focuses on Algebraic Geometry and Commutative Algebra, particularly tensor decompositions and their applications in algebraic statistics and computational algebra.
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Stockholm University (2016)
- Undergraduate studies, Università Degli Studi di Genova (Italy)
His recent work explores tensor decomposition loci, secant varieties, and identifiability in Gaussian mixtures. Alessandro co-organized the INABAG Conference 2025 and contributes to the MultilinearVerse portal for tensor literature. He is affiliated with the TensorDec Laboratory at Trento, fostering research and education in tensor decompositions.
- Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship
Alessandro collaborates extensively with institutions across Europe and participates in joint seminars and networks like INABAG, connecting algebraic geometry with applied mathematics.
