Her research focuses on political parties and representation, particularly how marginalized groups (e.g., immigrant-origin citizens, asylum seekers) are represented substantively and descriptively. Key themes include electoral promises, policy implementation, and voter responses to group-targeted appeals.
The articles highlight trends in Germany's political inclusion of minority groups. Topics span geospatial proximity to asylum-seeker centers, candidate selection mechanisms, and structural barriers to immigrant-origin representation in politics.
She has led DFG-funded research projects with colleagues from Sciences Po and the University of Trier. Teaching experience includes courses at the University of Konstanz, University of Stuttgart, Sciences Po Bordeaux, and Sciences Po Nancy.
