Elisa Bertolini is an Associate Professor of Comparative Public Law at Bocconi University. Her research focuses on constitutional law dynamics across diverse contexts, including Japanese legal systems, constitutional frameworks of micro states, internet governance, and the interplay between digital spaces and freedom of expression. She explores topics such as cancel culture’s impact on academic freedom, gender equality jurisprudence in Japan, and technology’s role in fostering inclusivity.
Her research interests span comparative constitutional law, with a particular emphasis on Japan’s Supreme Court, micro state governance, and surveillance in digital contexts. She has also examined fake news in political discourse and the complexities of regional integration in Asia-Pacific.
