Elin Nylander is a Doctoral Student in English Linguistics at the Centre for Languages and Literature, Lund University, under the Faculty of Humanities and Theology. She is actively engaged in research on multilingual students' vocabulary learning in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms, combining pedagogical design with development research methodology.
Her research focuses on intentional vocabulary learning among multilingual secondary school students. She has designed a word-focused task integrated into classroom teaching in collaboration with teachers. Her work explores translanguaging practices, lexical inferencing strategies, and the impact of collaborative learning and proficiency levels on vocabulary acquisition. Key themes include multilingualism, pedagogical innovation, and second language acquisition.
The body of her research outputs shows a consistent focus on vocabulary development in EFL contexts, particularly among adolescent and adult learners.
