Elin Abrahamsson is a Researcher at the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies, Stockholm University. She holds a Ph.D. in Gender Studies and specializes in feminist cultural studies and queer theory, focusing on popular culture linked to femininity, such as boybands and romantic fiction.
Her current project, 'What About Swedish Romance?,' explores conventions and communities in Swedish popular romance, funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR). This project is affiliated with the University of Southern Denmark's 'Uses of Literature' program.
Her work critically examines cultural products through intersectional lenses, emphasizing the social dimensions of literature and media.
