Elicia Clements is Associate Professor in English and Humanities at York University. Her SSHRC-funded research explores intersections between literature and music, particularly in Virginia Woolf's works and modernist opera. She chaired the Humanities Department from 2020-2023.
Publications include the monograph Virginia Woolf: Music, Sound, Language and the edited collection Victorian Aesthetic Conditions. Forthcoming work examines Walter Pater and Ethel Smyth.
Research Focus: Musical structures in literary narrative; auditory dimensions of modernist texts; interdisciplinary performance aesthetics.
