Eliane Bastos is a Lecturer and Postgraduate Research Student in the Department of Education at the University of Bath. Her research focuses on ocean literacy, posthumanism, and childhood-nature relationships. She holds a PhD from the University of Bath (ongoing), an MSc in Learning for Sustainability from the University of Plymouth (2017), and a BSc in Applied Biology from Universidade do Minho (2009).

Recent publications examine ocean literacy frameworks, transdisciplinary feminist methodologies, and childhood-environment interactions in climate change contexts. She serves on the Editorial Board of The Marine Biologist and as Board Director of the European Marine Science Educators Association.
