Keiron Fraser

Dr. Keiron Fraser is an Associate Professor (Education) in Marine Conservation at the University of Plymouth, serving as Academic Lead for the Marine Station and University Diving Officer. He oversees operational management of the Marine Station and ensures compliance with diving safety protocols for staff and students. His roles include teaching modules like Scientific Diving (OS207), Ocean Science Field Courses, and Sustainable Fisheries, while advising BSc, MSc, and PhD students. Fraser collaborates with the National Geographic Pristine Seas Programme as an Expedition Leader and scientist, focusing on Antarctic ecosystems and benthic communities.

Research interests span marine conservation, ecophysiology of cold-water organisms, protein metabolism in extreme environments, and the impact of human activities (e.g., dive tourism) on marine ecosystems. He has supervised numerous students investigating topics such as benthic colonisation, Antarctic clam thermal stress, and seagrass recovery.
