معرفی
Dr. Elia Bottalico is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool, specializing in high-precision particle physics through his work on the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab. His research focuses on measuring the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2) with unprecedented accuracy (140 ppb) and analyzing beam dynamics effects to reduce systematic errors. He plays dual roles in the experiment: developing laser calibration systems for calorimeter detectors and leading beam dynamics correction analysis as co-coordinator for Run-4/5/6. Previously, he earned his BS in Physics (2017) and MS in Fundamental Interactions (2019) from the University of Pisa, with thesis work conducted at Fermilab.
- PhD in Physics (ongoing)
- BS in Physics, University of Pisa
- MS in Fundamental Interactions, University of Pisa
His research spans experimental particle physics, quantum field theory, and data analysis techniques. Key contributions include:
- Offline extraction of calorimeter recovery times for gain fluctuation corrections
- Discovery and analysis of phase acceptance effects in beam dynamics
- Development of systematic error mitigation strategies
- Leadership in international collaborations
Recent publications highlight advancements in muon g-2 precision measurement, rare baryon decays, and three-pion correlation studies. He also contributes to equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts as a member of the Muon g-2 ED&I Committee.
