David W. Hertzog is the Arthur B. McDonald Distinguished Professor of Physics and Director of the Center for Experimental Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics (CENPA) at the University of Washington. He has held academic positions at the University of Illinois (1986–2010) and has been at UW since 2010. His research focuses on precision muon experiments, including the Fermilab Muon g-2 experiment and the PIONEER experiment studying rare pion decays. He has supervised numerous PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, contributing to groundbreaking measurements in particle physics.
