معرفی
Elham Alizadeh is a Postdoctoral Researcher at SIMBIOSys, Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Spain, specializing in biomechanics and mechanobiology with expertise in multi-scale modeling of biomaterials and composite structures.
Education:
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (2007-2011)
- M.Sc. in Structural Engineering (2011-2013)
- Ph.D. from University of Bern, Switzerland (2015-2020)
Research Interests: Her work integrates computational mechanics with biological systems, focusing on bone nano-composite properties, fracture mechanics in composite materials, and multi-scale homogenization techniques. She pioneers methods to bridge experimental data with finite element modeling across nano/micro scales, advancing understanding of material failure mechanisms in both biological tissues and engineered composites.
Scientific Awards:
- Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (FCS) (2021-2022)
Advising and Grants: Supervised multiple M.Sc. projects including recycled-aggregate concrete research. Secured competitive funding for three major projects: hollow composite decks study (2013-2018), pressure vessel fracture mechanics (2017-2018), and postdoctoral bone mechanics research (2021-2022) through the Swiss Excellence Scholarship.
Labs and Teams: Currently develops DXA-based femur fracture models within UPF's SIMBIOSys group. Previously collaborated with Prof. Zysset's bone research team at University of Bern and Brunel Composites Centre (UK), leveraging micropillar compression testing and XFEM methodologies.
