Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materialsمعرفی
Dr. Eleonora Isotta is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellow and Project Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her research focuses on understanding how microstructural features influence thermal and electrical transport properties in materials, particularly thermoelectric materials for energy harvesting and thermal management. She leads initiatives to engineer advanced microstructures through integrated microscopy and localized transport measurements.
Education:
- PhD in Materials Science, University of Trento, Italy (2017-2021)
- M.Sc., University of Trento and Free University of Bolzano, Italy (2015-2017)
- B.Eng., University of Trento, Italy (2012-2015)
Research Interests: Dr. Isotta investigates grain boundaries, oxides, and secondary phases in thermoelectric chalcogenides. Her work aims to establish structure-chemistry-property correlations to design next-generation thermoelectrics. Future research will address the impact of microstructure on electrical vs. thermal transport and develop in-situ measurement techniques.
Awards:
- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship (2024–present)
Labs & Teams: Leads the Nanoanalytics and Interfaces group at MPI-SusMat, focusing on advanced material characterization and functional material design.
