Eleonora C. V. Costa is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She is an active researcher at the Centre for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (CEFH), contributing to interdisciplinary work in psychology and social sciences.
Her research interests include:
- Psychology of trauma and mental health
- Intimate partner violence and child abuse
- HIV risk behaviors and prevention
- Self-efficacy and social support in health contexts
- Women's health and psychosocial interventions
Her recent publications (2024–2025) focus on the psychological impact of trauma, particularly among women, examining predictors of depression and PTSD, the interplay between abuse and HIV risk, and the stability of self-reported sexual abuse. Her work often employs psychometric and longitudinal approaches, emphasizing adolescence and at-risk populations.
