Ana Paula Pinto

Ana Paula Pinto is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), where she has held teaching positions since 1990. She also teaches at the Faculty of Theology of the same institution since 2006. Her academic work is deeply rooted in the Humanities, particularly Classical Philology and Literature.

Education:

• PhD in Humanities, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2007) – Thesis: 'Os Epítetos Homéricos dos deuses maiores'
• Master in Humanities, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (1998) – Thesis: 'Os Epítetos distintivos de Ulisses na Odisseia'

Her research focuses on Classical Philology, with emphasis on Homeric Poetry, Portuguese Literature, Classical Mythology, and Linguistic Studies. She actively explores the intersections between ancient and modern literary traditions, especially in educational contexts.

Her recent publications (2017–2024) reflect a strong trend in analyzing Homeric epics, narrative identity, myth and education, and cultural continuity. These works appear in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, often in collaboration with colleagues in philosophy, education, and humanistic studies.

Ana Paula Pinto is actively involved in academic service, including editing books, organizing international conferences (e.g., on peace education and pedagogy), and participating in the CEFH: Centre for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies research project (2020–2025). She has co-edited significant volumes on happiness, justice, and humanistic perspectives, demonstrating her commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and academic leadership.
