Elenore Long is a Professor and Interim Associate Chair in the English Department at Arizona State University (ASU). Her research focuses on community literacy, public spheres theories, and the intersection of rhetoric with contemporary social challenges. She holds a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University and has collaborated extensively with institutions like the Community House in Pittsburgh.
Her work bridges rhetoric, sociology, and activism, addressing issues such as institutional responsiveness, transnational feminism, and knowledge activism. Key publications include A Responsive Rhetorical Art (2018) and Community Literacy and the Rhetoric of Local Publics (2008). She has received awards for her publicly engaged scholarship from the Academic Council of Learned Societies.
