Elena Yiangou is a Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences at the School of Sciences, European University Cyprus. She holds a pending Doctor of Philosophy (since 2019) from the University of Cyprus in Psychology, with a thesis on language development in Cypriot-Greek deaf children. Her academic background includes an MSc (2007) and BSc (2004) in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Arizona State University.
Her professional experience spans research and clinical roles: she worked as a Research Assistant at Arizona State University (2002–2007), a Speech-language Pathologist at Desert Voices Oral School for the Deaf (2007–2008), and transitioned to academia as a Part-time Lecturer since 2018. Key research contributions include studies on phonological development in children with Specific Language Impairment (2002–2005) and early literacy interventions (2005–2007).
