Elena Prendergast is an Assistant Professor at Augusta University, jointly appointed in the College of Nursing and The Graduate School. She serves in the Department of Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program, where she contributes to advanced nursing education and evidence-based practice development.

She has contributed to bioethics education through the IPPH Bioethics Certificate Program and is involved in public health initiatives such as the Farmworker COVID Vaccine Clinic and the Medical Reserve Corps.
She is an engaged member of professional organizations including the Hospice and Palliative Nursing Association, American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia, where she previously served as Vice President.
