Elena Lupták

Elena Lupták is a Professor at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), specifically within the Faculty of Performing Arts. Since 1998, she has served as a core lecturer, focusing on contemporary dance, dance pedagogy, and applied theory. Her roles include thesis supervision, coordination of Erasmus exchange programs, and leadership in international artistic projects. She holds a background in dance pedagogy from MUK and technical studies at Bratislava’s Technical University.

Her research interests span contemporary dance choreography, interdisciplinary performance, and cultural transformation. Notable projects include collaborations with universities in Lyon, Istanbul, and Bratislava (2009–2010), and performances at festivals like Arada Istanbul and Festspiele Langenlois. She has also been active as a dancer and choreographer, with roles in works by prominent artists like Manfred Aichinger and Günther Mörtl.

Elena received the Jury Prize at the Modern Dance Festival Banska Bystrica and was named Austria’s Erasmus Ambassador by the EU Commission (2012). Her work integrates artistic and scholarly research, emphasizing cultural dynamics through movement and performance.
