Nikolaus Selimov

Nikolaus Selimov is a Professor at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, holding roles as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts and coordinator of the Master of Arts Education (MAE) program. He has led departments including Contemporary and Classical Dance, and previously headed the Ballet Department and Modern Dance Pedagogy. His academic journey includes studies in Theatre Studies, German Studies, Drama, and Dance Pedagogy.

Artistically, he co-directed the Homunculus Dance Theater (1983–2013), choreographed for institutions like the Vienna State Opera Ballet, and curated festivals like 'Austria Dances.' His awards include the OEHasse Prize and Austrian Dance Production Award.

Pedagogically, he teaches improvisation, choreography, and bodywork, with roles at institutions such as Das Studio and the Volkstheater Vienna acting school. He also leads continuing education for the Lower Austrian Music School Management.

• Cultural Policy: Founded the Austrian Choreographers' Platform, contributed to Vienna's cultural affairs working groups, and developed support programs for dancers/choreographers.
