Elena Fantino

Dr. Elena Fantino serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Khalifa University, United Arab Emirates. She joined the institution in 2017 after holding academic positions at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and research roles with the Italian and European Space Agencies. She currently chairs the ASTRO research team and serves as vice-chair of the International Astronautical Federation's Astrodynamics Technical Committee.

Dr. Fantino specializes in nonlinear dynamics of space systems, with research spanning trajectory optimization, invariant manifold structures, and long-term orbital evolution. Her work bridges theoretical celestial mechanics with practical spacecraft design, focusing on low-energy transfers, space situational awareness, and advanced propulsion systems. Current projects develop next-generation orbit propagation tools and lunar exploration architectures.
