Dr. Elebeoba E. May serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, affiliated with the College of Engineering and Department of Biomedical Engineering. As Director of the Multi-scale Immunobiology Design, Algorithms, and Simulation (MIDAS) Lab, she develops quantitative platforms for predictive biological modeling in chronic infection, biodefense, and biomanufacturing. Her work integrates coding theory and information theory to model gene expression and microbial communication.
- BS, MS, PhD in Computer Engineering - North Carolina State University
Research focuses on multiscale modeling of biological systems, with emphasis on tuberculosis immunodynamics, macrophage response analysis, and electrogenetic activation. She employs SED-ML standards for reproducible modeling and applies error-correcting frameworks to biological processes.
Scientific awards include NIH/NHLBI K25 Quantitative Research Career Development Award, NSF Directors Award for Superior Accomplishment, and Women of Color Research Sciences and Technology Award. Research supported by grants from DoE, DTRA, NIH, and NSF.
