Professor Eleanor Shaw is Dean of the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow. She is renowned for her research on entrepreneurial resource allocation, particularly focusing on disparities faced by underrepresented founders like female entrepreneurs, and the economic consequences of these inequalities. Her work has influenced UK enterprise policy, including the 2008 Enterprise Strategy and the Aspire Co-Investment Fund (2009).
Research interests include:
- Equitable access to entrepreneurial resources
- Long-term impacts of under-capitalization on firm growth
- Policy design for women-led ventures
- Entrepreneurial education innovation
She pioneered the Growth Advantage Programme (GAP), which has supported 93 founders since 2015, and led the Strathclyde Inspire strategy to commercialize academic innovations, doubling spinouts and licenses annually since 2019.
