معرفی
Professor Eleanor Davies is a Professor of Molecular Endocrinology at the BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre, University of Glasgow. She holds roles as co-director of the University's MSc Cardiovascular Sciences program and School Post-Graduate Director. Her research focuses on aldosterone’s role in cardiovascular diseases, integrating molecular biology, cell biology, and clinical studies. Key collaborations span Europe and the USA, funded by EU (H2020/ENS@T-HT), CSO, BHF, and international governments. She leads the EU-COST network ADMIRE and chairs committees for experimental medicine and endocrinology societies.
Education: BSc (Hons) Biochemistry (University of Glasgow), PhD (University of Edinburgh), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at INSERM in Paris.
Research Interests: Translational studies on aldosterone regulation in hypertension and stroke, microRNA roles in steroidogenesis, and precision medicine approaches using multi-omics. Her work bridges basic science and clinical applications, emphasizing biomarker discovery and disease stratification.
Grants & Professional Roles: Key grants include EU-funded projects (e.g., MINDSHIFT, ENSAT-HF) and UK initiatives. She reviews for funding bodies (MRC, Wellcome Trust) and journals, and chairs committees for endocrinology societies. Active in editorial roles for Endocrinology and international conferences.
Labs/Teams: Leads a translational research group collaborating globally, focusing on adrenal steroid biosynthesis and its cardiovascular implications. Her lab employs cutting-edge techniques like RNAseq, miRNA arrays, and bioinformatics for disease mechanism exploration.
