Eleanor Craig is a Provost's Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University's Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Their research focuses on intersections of gender, race, coloniality, and religion through literary and philosophical analysis. Craig co-edited Beyond Man: Race, Coloniality, and Philosophy of Religion (Duke UP, 2021) and leads projects on trauma theory and Asian American poetics.
They serve on steering committees for the American Academy of Religion’s Religion, Colonialism, and Postcolonialism unit, and the Committee on the Status of Women and Gender Minoritized Persons. Craig co-chairs the board of directors for the Asian American Resource Workshop and leads the Critical Ethnic Studies Northeast working group funded by the Asian Pacific American Religions Research Initiative.
Recent publications engage coloniality’s impact on religious thought, postcolonial literature, and queer epistemologies. Their work critiques how racial, gendered, and colonial structures are upheld/challenged through religious frameworks.
