Eleanor Bimla Schwarz

Eleanor Bimla Schwarz, MD is a Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, specializing in general internal medicine and health services research. Her work focuses on health equity, women's health, reproductive health, and addressing disparities in underserved populations. Dr. Schwarz has held leadership roles including Medical Consultant for California’s Department of Health Care Services and Senior Medical Expert in Reproductive Health for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She is a Distinguished Professor in Women’s Health (2022-2023) from the Society of General Internal Medicine.

Education includes a BS and MS from UC Berkeley, MD from UCSF, residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine, and a fellowship in Women’s Health & Health Services Research.
