Eleanor Barry is a Clinical Research Fellow and NHS General Practitioner at the University of Oxford's Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, where she holds an NIHR Development and Skills Enhancement Award. Her work focuses on the intersection of primary care, public health, and diabetes prevention with an emphasis on health systems approaches.
Dr. Barry's research interests include diabetes prevention, health policy, health systems research, evidence-based healthcare, women's health, social determinants of health, and the assessment of complex interventions. Her work critically examines how individual-level approaches to preventing type 2 diabetes may be insufficient for addressing disparities affecting deprived areas, diverse ethnic backgrounds, and women.
Her publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on diabetes prevention policy and practice, with recent work exploring system's thinking approaches to health policy.
