Elaine Darby

Elaine Darby is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the Department of Accounting and Financial Management, Royal Holloway, University of London. Her professional background includes roles at PwC, Deloitte, and KPMG in audit and tax, followed by teaching professional accountancy qualifications at BPP Professional Education. She has been in higher education since 2011, focusing on teaching professional skills, ethics, audit, and financial accounting. She holds a Professional Diploma in Digital Learning Design (2023) and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2020).

Elaine serves as Chief External Examiner for ACCA at Oxford Brookes University (2021–2025). Her recognitions include the Royal Holloway Team Teaching Prize (2023) and Fellowship from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (2009).

She actively participates in academic conferences, including the ICAEW HE Conference (2023), BAFA Accounting Education Conference (2018), and ICAEW Higher Education Conference (2012–2020).
