Eladio Abreu is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Biology Department at Emory University. Prior to this role, he served as a Fellowships in Research and Science Training (FIRST) postdoctoral fellow at Emory's Winship Cancer Center and taught at the Atlanta University Center (AUC). He holds a B.S. from Morehouse College (2005) and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia (2011).
His research focuses on protein trafficking mechanisms in cancer cells and epigenetic silencing effects on primary ciliogenesis. Recently, his interests have shifted toward improving science education through active learning methodologies. He integrates his research into classroom teaching to bridge theory with real-world applications.
