Ela Mistry-Jackson is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership, part of the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Bradford. She holds expertise in social work, healthcare leadership, and equality advocacy. Her professional background includes roles as an Equality Assessor for the Premier League, a Social Worker across diverse settings, and a Probation Officer. She has also worked in mental health support, drug and alcohol dependency services, and community development for ethnic minorities.
Her research focuses on addressing systemic challenges in social work education, particularly 'Failing students on Social Work placements,' and combating Child Sexual Exploitation. She currently leads early-stage research initiatives in these areas. Mistry-Jackson has volunteered internationally in Romania and India and previously served as Equality and Diversity Officer at Leeds College of Building.
Her professional network includes membership in the Independent Football Ombudsman’s Equality and Diversity Expert Panel, reflecting her commitment to equity across sectors.
