Professor Shirley Congdon serves as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford, where she holds responsibility for the leadership and management of the institution and leads the development of its values and strategy. She is the eighth Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford and holds the distinction of being the first woman to serve in this role.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Professor Congdon has held senior leadership positions at three different universities. Her professional background began with qualification as a Registered Nurse, and her academic expertise spans several key areas of health and social care. She is committed to engendering a vibrant culture for staff and students while reinforcing the University's commitment to excellence in teaching & learning, research, knowledge exchange and equality, diversity and inclusion.
