Eirik Askerøi is a Professor of Music at the University of Innlandet and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Agder. He holds an MA in Musicology from the University of Oslo (2005) and a PhD in Performing Rhythmic Music from the University of Agder (2013). His research focuses on the interplay between human and machine in music production, the impact of technology on musical expression, and the role of sonic details in shaping overall musical identity.
Key research interests include popular music studies, music education, cultural theory, and discursive analysis.
