Eileen Razzari Elrod is a Professor of English at Santa Clara University specializing in early American literature. She received the Brutocao Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007.
Her research examines race, religion, and gender in early American texts, particularly autobiographical writings by marginalized authors. She teaches courses on Puritan poetry, 19th-century American literature, and multicultural texts.
Publications explore biblical rhetoric in autobiographical writing and representations of identity. Her book Piety and Dissent analyzes biblical references in early American life writing. Recent articles examine Puritan influences and abolitionist literature.
Administrative roles include Associate Provost for Faculty Development (2010-2024), English Department Associate Chair, and leadership in faculty governance groups.
