Eileen Narcotta-Welp is an Associate Professor of Sport Management at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her research focuses on the cultural study of sport, media representation, and the intersection of identities in high-performance women's sport, particularly within transnational contexts. She holds a Ph.D. in Health and Sport Studies from the University of Iowa (2016), an M.S. in Physical Education (Sport Administration) from Ball State University (2006), and a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Sciences (Sport Nutrition Emphasis) from the University of Vermont (2000).
Her work has been published in journals like Journal of Sport History, Sport & Society, Soccer & Society, and Team Performance Manual. She actively presents at conferences such as the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. In 2024, she co-presented 'Great Ideas for Teaching Students (GIFTS): Discussion Prompts' at the CATL Mini-Conference.
Educationally, she teaches courses such as Sport Management and Society, Event and Sport Operations/Management, and Gender & Sport: Reproducers and Resistors. Her career includes prior roles as a soccer coach at institutions like the University of Iowa and Ball State University, alongside teaching assistantships during her PhD.
