Eileen J. Brantley, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences, Pharmacology Division, at the School of Medicine of Loma Linda University. Her research focuses on cancer drug development, particularly targeting endocrine resistance and cancer stem cells in breast cancer. She investigates therapies involving aryl hydrocarbon receptor agonists and α6-integrin inhibition to improve treatment efficacy. Dr. Brantley holds a PhD from Meharry Medical College (1999), an MS from Ohio State University (1995), and a BS from Oakwood University (1993).
Her service roles include committee memberships such as the Basic Sciences Implementation Subcommittee (2020–2021), Graduate Council (2017–2021), and IMSD committee (2010–Present), which aim to enhance diversity in graduate and medical education. She has led grants as Principal Investigator (PI) for projects like 'Targeting α6-Integrin to Reverse Tamoxifen Resistance' and 'AhR Agonist Analogs for Refractory Breast Cancer.'
Dr. Brantley's research interests also encompass oxidative stress mechanisms in cancer and redox regulation of anticancer agents. She has mentored numerous students, including Pharmacy and graduate trainees, and contributed to advancing health equity through initiatives addressing cancer disparities.
