Eider Etxebarria is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Northwestern University. She holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Education (SLATE) and Translation. Her research focuses on bilingual language development in children, endangered/minoritized languages, and community-based linguistic practices. She coordinates Spanish 101 (Elementary Spanish) and teaches foundational language courses.

Research Highlights:
