Dr. Ehud Mendel is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Yale School of Medicine and serves as the Disease Center Director of the Spine Oncology Program and Executive Vice Chair in the Department of Neurosurgery. He joined Yale in 2021 from The Ohio State University, where he directed the Spine Oncology Program and Spine Research Institute. A multidisciplinary academic surgeon, he specializes in spinal tumor removal, reconstructive spine surgery, and spine oncology research protocols.

Dr. Mendel pioneered surgical techniques for post-tumor spine reconstruction and advanced protocols for treating spinal sarcomas, spinal cord tumors, and osteoblastomas. At Yale, he leads the Spine Surgery Program and contributes to clinical innovation at Smilow Cancer Hospital.
