Egil Sverre Eide

Egil Sverre Eide is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Systems at NTNU's Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. His research integrates antenna engineering, radar systems, and remote sensing technologies, with applications in autonomous ships and subsurface imaging.

Eide holds MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from NTNU. His industry experience includes founding and leading 3d-Radar AS (2001-2012), where he served as CEO and later Chief Scientist. He maintains an adjunct professorship teaching Antenna Engineering and contributes to COST Action TU1208 on Civil Engineering Applications of Ground Penetrating Radar.

Major innovations include patented antenna systems for georadar and ground-penetrating radar technologies. His interdisciplinary research bridges electromagnetic theory, signal processing, and hardware development for environmental and industrial applications.

Eide has received numerous awards including the Technoport Applied Technology Award, NHO Trøndelag Innovation Award, and Norwegian Gazelle Award for fast-growing enterprises. His work supports advanced radar solutions for infrastructure assessment and autonomous navigation systems.
