Dr. Efrosini Papaconstantinou is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University. She is a pediatric nurse researcher with expertise in sleep medicine, non-pharmacological interventions, and clinical decision-making in nursing education.

Her research focuses on evaluating nursing interventions to improve sleep outcomes in children, adolescents, and families. She pioneered the Relax to Sleep program, a behavioral-educational intervention for hospitalized children, and uses actigraphy as an objective measure of sleep/wake patterns. Her work addresses predictors of disturbed sleep and post-hospital maladaptive behaviors.
Key trends in her research include pediatric sleep disorders, randomized controlled trials, and non-pharmacological interventions. She has collaborated extensively on studies involving bronchiolitis, dementia-related sleep issues, and chronotype analysis in university populations.
