Efpraxia Maria

Efpraxia Maria is Professor of Environmental Law at the Technical University of Crete, specializing in biodiversity protection, landscape governance, and climate policy. Her research examines legal frameworks for genetic resources, protected areas, and renewable energy technologies.

Recent interdisciplinary work focuses on drone surveillance applications in environmental monitoring and disaster response, analyzing privacy implications under EU regulations. She leads research projects on forest protection legislation and environmental finance.

Publications demonstrate expertise in biodiversity law and technology governance. Her 2021-2025 articles address remote sensing regulations, Natura 2000 implementation, and privacy challenges in earth observation technologies.

She teaches Environmental Law and Sustainable Development Governance courses, mentoring PhD candidates in environmental legal studies.
