Eefje Hendriks is an Assistant Professor of Disaster Resilience and Humanitarian Assistance at the University of Twente's Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC). She holds a PhD from Eindhoven University of Technology and dual MSc degrees (cum laude) in Architecture and Building Technology. Her research focuses on disaster risk reduction, post-disaster reconstruction, climate change adaptation, and decision-making in vulnerable communities.
Current projects include a Veni Grant-funded initiative exploring safer housing recovery strategies in low-income countries. She also advises the EU's Climate Change Adaptation Policy Support Facility and collaborates with NGOs like Doctors Without Borders. Teaching roles include co-developing the Humanitarian Engineering master's program and lecturing at TU Delft and University of Sydney.
