Edwin Price is a Senior Professor and Howard G. Buffett Endowed Chair on Conflict and Development in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University. He serves as Director of the Center on Conflict and Development (ConDev) and holds affiliations with Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension. With over five decades of experience, Price specializes in the interplay between armed conflict, agricultural development, and international aid. His work focuses on policy design for fragile states, economic impacts of conflict, and sustainable agricultural systems in post-war regions.

Research Interests:
Price’s research explores how conflict disrupts agricultural systems and food security, with emphasis on policy interventions in post-conflict zones. His work spans quantitative analyses of commodity price volatility, gender dynamics in smallholder farming, and the role of international aid in fostering development. He has pioneered methodologies to measure economic losses from conflict and design conflict-resistant agricultural practices.

- Founded the Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture (2006)
