Dr Edwin Ezeokafor is a Researcher at the University of Dundee's Faculty of Life Sciences and Education, affiliated with the Criminology, Policing and Security Research and Innovation Group. His academic journey includes a PhD in International Security (2015) under Prof. Christian Kaunert, following undergraduate studies in History/International Relations in Nigeria and postgraduate work at the University of Aberdeen.
Research focuses on global security dynamics, particularly terrorism (Maghreb/Sahel/Gulf of Guinea regions), natural resource-conflict linkages, and health securitization in Africa. He has published extensively on topics like pandemic governance and neo-patrimonialism in African security frameworks. His work includes a 2022 Routledge book on West African security re-conceptualization and peer-reviewed articles on health crises and securitization theory.
Edwin is a founding member of the Dundee African Research Network (DARN), emphasizing Africa-centric academic collaboration. His consultancy work addresses crisis management and geopolitical risks in conflict zones.
