Dr. Assis Malaquias is the Academic Dean at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, where he leads curriculum and program development across critical security domains including Advancing Military Professionalism, Countering Transnational Organized Crime, Cybersecurity, Maritime Security, and Security Sector Governance. His academic career spans roles as Professor and Chair at institutions such as the California State University Maritime Academy, St. Lawrence University, and the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, alongside visiting appointments at Stellenbosch University and the University of Western Cape.
