Edward S. Shihadeh

Edward S. Shihadeh is Professor of Sociology at LSU's College of Humanities & Social Sciences. Since joining LSU in 1992 (PhD, Penn State), he researches urban crime through structural lenses including racial segregation, poverty concentration, and labor market dynamics. He founded LSU's CAPER (Crime and Policy Evaluation Research Group).

Key Contributions:

• Developed dual-social-worlds framework explaining Latino crime patterns
• Leads TIGER project creating statewide offender risk assessment systems
• Publishes extensively on Black inner-city disparities
• Addresses 'Latino paradox' in criminology
