Edward Morgan-Jones is a Professor of Comparative Politics and Divisional Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Kent's School of Politics and International Relations. He holds a DPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford and has held prior roles as a Research Fellow and Tutor at Keble College, Oxford. His research focuses on political institutions in democracies, including constitutional design, semi-presidential systems, and citizen attitudes toward post-conflict peacebuilding. He co-leads major funded projects like the Inclusive Peace Project (£1.4M) and the Peace Return Project (€2.5M). Notable publications include works on early elections, peace settlements, and comparative governance. He has supervised six PhD students and won the 2019 Kent Research Supervision Prize.
Research interests include constitutional choice, parliamentary vs. semi-presidential regimes, cabinet dynamics, and post-conflict institution building. Recent work employs survey experiments to study citizen preferences on borders and peace agreements in divided societies. Key collaborations span global institutions, emphasizing empirical rigor and policy relevance.
