Edward H. Miller is a Teaching Professor in the Department of History at Northeastern University, affiliated with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. His research focuses on American conservatism, 20th-century U.S. history, and political movements, particularly through his work on the John Birch Society and Robert Welch. He authored A Conspiratorial Life: Robert Welch, the John Birch Society, and the Revolution of American Conservatism, which was featured in an NPR interview (Reader’s Corner podcast).
Dr. Miller received the 2024-2025 Outstanding Teaching Awards from the Department of History, reflecting his dedication to pedagogy. His scholarly contributions engage with conspiracy theories, political radicalization, and the evolution of conservative thought in modern America. As part of the History faculty, he contributes to programs like the Ph.D. in World History and Public History initiatives.
