معرفی
Edward Dreyzin is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), and Director of the Center of Materials for Advanced Energetics. His research focuses on reactive materials, combustion mechanisms, nanocomposites, and thermal oxidation processes. He has led numerous federal grants, including projects funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the National Science Foundation, exploring topics such as staged energy release in reactive materials and droplet welding techniques.
Key research interests include the synthesis and characterization of energetic materials, combustion dynamics of metal particles, and the development of novel materials for defense and energy applications. His work has resulted in over 339 publications and 11,636 citations, with an h-index of 56. Notable recent contributions involve aluminum powder reactivity enhancement, boron oxidation studies, and vapor-phase interactions with inorganic surfaces.
Dreyzin’s grants and collaborations span reactive materials engineering, particle technology, and materials processing. He has co-led initiatives like the acquisition of advanced microscopy tools for particulate research and studies on social learning processes in renewable energy systems. His lab, the Center of Materials for Advanced Energetics, is a hub for interdisciplinary research in energetic materials and combustion science.
