Dr Edward Caddye is a Clinical Research Fellow in Imaging at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS), working within the CISC group. He also spends one day per week in the academic immunopsychiatry clinic under Professor Alessandro Colasanti.
His educational background includes:
- MB BCh BAO (Medical degree)
- BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry
- PGCert (Distinction) in Psychiatry
Dr Caddye's research focuses on metabolic psychiatry, with particular interest in brain metabolism, neuroimaging, and the interaction between brain and body. His work is underpinned by an integrated model of cellular, brain, and bodily metabolism, with a specific focus on lactate as a key intermediary in glycolytic and oxidative metabolism. This research aims to understand metabolism in the context of optimizing human health and performance.
