Edward A. Williamson serves as Associate Professor of Education at Drury University's School of Education & Child Development since 1999, teaching foundational and graduate courses at the St. Robert campus and online. He advises the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program and serves as St. Robert campus contact for M.Ed. specializations in elementary, middle, and secondary education.
His academic credentials include:

- B.S. in Elementary Education, Southwest Baptist University (1991)
- M.S. in Education, Southwest Baptist University (1993)
- Ph.D. in Information Science and Learning Technologies, University of Missouri-Columbia (1998)
Dr. Williamson's research centers on social capital dynamics in educational settings, rural school systems, sociological and philosophical foundations of pedagogy, technology integration, social justice frameworks, and liberal arts approaches to teacher preparation. His doctoral work examined correlations between student self-esteem, school size, and academic achievement in Missouri high schools.
He maintains active professional engagement through conference presentations at state, regional, and national levels, and completed a sabbatical at the George Washington Carver National Monument during spring 2015. His organizational affiliations include the Carver Birthplace Association, Missouri Prairie Foundation, and AAUP.
